Community Health Worker (CHW) – Franklin County
United Way of Roanoke Valley is seeking a highly motivated, organized, outgoing and detail-oriented Community Health Worker to join our team. The CHW, in partnership with the West-Piedmont Health District and other Community Stakeholders, will advocate in favor of vaccine acceptance and work to increase and expedite vaccinations in the Franklin County community, while also working to remove barriers to vaccination. Candidates must be a team-player, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to gain trust of people from various walks of life and socio-economic levels. The Candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and must successfully complete Community Health Worker training upon hire. Two years of general work experience and experience in community outreach and working with underserved and marginalized populations preferred. A valid Virginia Driver’s License and reliable transportation is required.
This is a full-time, grant funded position at 37.5 hours per week. This is a non-exempt, hourly paid position at $19.50 per hour, with benefits. UWRV is an EOE and drug free workplace.

United Way of Roanoke Valley is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Grant Manager for our Operations and Finance Team. This position will be instrumental in the day-to-day grants fiscal management of the organization with responsibility for preparing invoices for payment, reports for submission, budget monitoring and other grant administration tasks. In addition, this position provides assistance with Grant Writing and is responsible for basic administration of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program. Candidates must possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills, have a keen attention to detail, exhibit strong communication skills, and be able to work in a team oriented environment.
Requirements include advanced knowledge in MS Office Suite, the Internet, accounting software, and the ability to navigate and manage databases. High School diploma required. Basic Accounting knowledge required. Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred. Experience in a non-profit organization highly desirable.
Salary range is $42,000-$47,000 with benefits. EOE

VP, Marketing & Communications
United Way of Roanoke Valley is seeking a highly motivated, creative, forward thinking individual to lead our Marketing & Communications team. The VP, Marketing & Communications is responsible for advancing the brand and positively positioning United Way as a philanthropic leader and trusted partner in the community. The VP, Marketing & Communications manages the information shared through various media outlets; provides direction and oversight for all creative deliverables; creates and implements a company-wide integrated marketing plan; collaborates with staff to ensure consistent messaging and uniformity of presentation; and measures results and makes adjustments for continuous improvement. This position requires knowledge of both marketing tactics and visual communication design.
Candidates must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a team-oriented environment. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field required.
Salary Range $70,000 – 78,000 starting based on experience. EOE
