Community Health Worker (CHW) – Franklin County

United Way of Roanoke Valley is seeking a highly motivated, organized, outgoing and detail-oriented Community Health Worker to join our team. The CHW, in partnership with the West-Piedmont Health District and other Community Stakeholders, will advocate in favor of vaccine acceptance and work to increase and expedite vaccinations in the Franklin County community, while also working to remove barriers to vaccination. Candidates must be a team-player, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to gain trust of people from various walks of life and socio-economic levels. The Candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and must successfully complete Community Health Worker training upon hire. Two years of general work experience and experience in community outreach and working with underserved and marginalized populations preferred. A valid Virginia Driver’s License and reliable transportation is required.

This is a full-time, grant funded position at 37.5 hours per week. This is a non-exempt, hourly paid position at $19.50 per hour, with benefits. UWRV is an EOE and drug free workplace.
