United Way of Roanoke Valley “Read United” is a program focused on promoting literacy for children and their families. Our Early Learning Strategies team is looking for books to pair with activities for our partnering childcare facilities. Each activity correlates with a specific book title for families to engage with together.

Here is how your team can help:

Book Drive:

• Pic a couple of weeks that best fits your calendar and run a book drive.
• UWRV team will provide flyers with provided dates and book drop off location.
• No time to shop? Let the UWRV team shop for you! Give to our Read United fund and pick out your specific book title here.

Read with Kids

During the week of April 6-12th UWRV is collaborating with several after school programs that will have open times available to come in and read to their kids.

Here is How to Sign Up:

Employee participants sign up on our Read United: Read with Kids Jotform for specific times & locations.

Participants will be given further details and contact info for their specified slot location.

Submit a confirmation letter from HR that all participants have gone through background checks to: volunteers [at] uwrv.org
